Keep the recipes, and the people who made them
Somewhere in most families there is a box of recipe cards. Some are stained and folded, some are in a hand you would know anywhere, and a few have notes in the margin that only one person could explain.
I help families keep those recipes and the stories that go with them. I am getting ready to take on my first families now, and I would love to hear about yours.
Tell me about your recipes
Why I do this
It started with my own family’s recipe box
I gathered the cards, scanned them one by one, listened to the stories behind them, and turned them into a book my family can keep. Along the way I saw how much lives on those cards besides the recipe: the handwriting, the notes in the margin, and the memories that come back when you read them.
I would love to help your family do the same.

How it works
From the recipe box to a book you can hold
One
We sit down together
At your kitchen table, if you like. You tell me about the people behind the recipes: who made what, for which holidays, and what it tasted like when they made it.
Two
I scan the cards with care
I can scan them at your home, or you can bring or send them to me. Either way, your original cards come back to you.
Three
You receive your book
Your recipes, photos, and stories become a custom cookbook your family can hold, use, and pass down. There will be a few cookbook options, and I will walk you through them.
Starting close to home
Families in the Twin Cities
I am beginning with families in the Twin Cities, so we can meet in person.
Let’s talk
Is there a recipe box in your family?
If there is one that deserves a book, I would love to hear about it. Tell me a little about the cook, the cards, and who the book is for.
